THE ART OF MEDITATION

« Your mind is a Marvelous Ocean. Surrender to the Inner Silence and discover the Wonderful Places hidden in its depths.”
– Ghizlane Elouazzani

If you are not familiar with meditation, you may well still be wondering, “What is meditation?”
Meditation is a state of thoughtless awareness. It is a state of profound, deep peace that occurs when the mind is calm, silent and clear, yet completely alert.
Meditation is not about concentrating, focusing on or visualization… It is about letting go and surrendering to the Inner Silence.

WHEN YOU MEDITATE, THE SILENCE OF THE SENSES ILLUMINES THE PRESENCE OF SOURCE WITHIN.

We hear it all the time; “meditation can improve our creative thinking, our energy, stamina, lower stress and help us sleep better”.
Studies show that meditation is associated with improvement in a variety of psychological areas, including stress, anxiety, addiction, depression, eating disorders and congnitive function, among others. There are also researches to suggest that meditation can reduce blood pressure, pain response, stress hormone levels and even cellular health. But what does it actually do to the body?

1-   BENEFITS OF MEDITATION:

-      - Meditation brings the brainwave pattern into an ALPHA STATE that promotes healing. The mind becomes fresh, delicate and beautiful.
-      - It improves Emotional Stability.
-    - Increases Creativity.
-       Increases happiness.
-       With meditation you can gain clarity and peace of the mind.
-       It sharpens the mind by gaining focus, and expands it through relaxation; which creates balance, in ones life.
-       The person becomes more aware of their Inner attitude and happiness.
-       It releases accumulated stress and anxiety that are in the system; leaving it refreshed, focused and joyful.
-       Lowers High Blood Pressure.
-       Decreases any tension- related pain such as; tension headaches, ulcers, and insomnia, muscle and joint problems.
-       Increases Serotonin production that improves mood and behavior.
-       Improves Immune System.
-       Increases the Energy Level.
-       Helps you release negative energy by cleansing and nourishing you from within and helping you find peace, harmony, happiness AND ALIGN YOU WITH YOUR HIGHER SELF.
With the assimilation of meditation into daily life, your consciousness evolves and in time, is able to experience the higher and refined states of consciousness.

2-   BABY STEPS TO MEDITATION:

The habit of meditation is one of the best things I’ve ever learned. It is also one of the simplest habits to do – you can do it anywhere and anytime… There are lots of way to meditate, but your concern is not to find a perfect form of meditation–(all forms of meditation are perfect) – It is to form the daily habit of meditation.
So here’s how to meditate:

PICK THE RIGHT TIME FOR YOU

A general time of the day, like the morning when you wake up, or the afternoon. The goal is to be able to meditate regularly.

 FIND A QUIET SPOT:

Sometimes early the morning is the best, before others in the house wake up and make a lot of noise. It really does not matter where- as long as you can sit (or lay down) without being bothered, for a few minutes-.
After a few months or years of daily meditation you will be able to meditate anywhere… Your ability to focus, concentrate and ignore what is around you will improve dramatically.

START WITH JUST 5 MINUTES:

Most of people will think they can meditate for 15- 30 minutes very easily the first time (some can). But if you are trying to form a longer- lasting habit then starting with just 5 minutes will be easier.  Forming a habit with a small start like this, is a way to success.
You can expand to 10 minutes, if you can do it for 14 days straight, then 15 minutes if you can stick to it for 30 days.
A whole month is enough to form a habit and make sure you will stick to it.

FOCUS ON YOUR BEATHING:

Take 1, 2, 3 long breaths in… 5,6,7,8 breaths out. Close your eyes and focus on your breathing. It won’t be easy at first, but you will get better with practice.

When your consciousness evolves and expands, the disturbances in your life become negligible. Anger and any negative emotions become feeling emotions that occur momentarily and then vanish. You start living in the NOW and LET GO of the past and your worries about the future.
