A detox diet is
a period when a person stops taking unhealthy food, drinks or drugs into their
bodies for a period of time, in order to improve their health.
Why do you need a detox diet?
A detox diet is
meant to help you rid of those rigid toxins in the body… You might also lose
weight on a detox diet, because most of detox diets are very low in calories.
A lot of doctors
suggest that many of the chemicals we ingest daily through food, water and air
can become deposited in fat cells in our bodies. Toxins include pesticides,
antibiotics and hormones in food, chemicals from packaging, household cleaners,
detergents, food additives, heavy metals, pollution, drugs, alcohol, cigarettes
and smokes. The cumulative load called the ‘body burden’, is linked to hormonal
imbalance, impaired immune function, nutritional deficiency, and inefficient
metabolism that can easily lead to illness.
If you are
having difficulty concentrating on a daily basis, feeling tired all the time,
having headaches, muscle pain, having difficulty digesting food, finding it
difficult to lose weight and suffering from some diseases as high blood
pressure and diabetes; then it’s time for you to start a detox diet…
Benefits of a detox diet:
-
-If
you’re overweight, it is possible that you could be carrying excess fecal
matter in your body. This excess waste can add on weight and make you feel
lethargic. When you do a detox, you can clean your colon and eliminate all the
excess waste in your body and lose weight easily.
-
-A
detox diet increases energy levels, making you feel brand new with the energy
to do everything you want to do.
- -
Strenghts
the Immune System: Your body will be immune to illness… No sicker day! YAY lol
-Increases
mental focus and help you feel better.
-
-You
feel great, healthy, happy, and you sleep better…And your skin becomes clearer
and healthier.
Side effects of a detox diet?
One of the most
common side effects is headache within the first few days, low energy, acne,
hunger and weight loss and in some cases diarrhea.
-It is better to
start a detox on the weekend or take some time off work before you begin.
· -
If
you love working out, take a break for a few days until you finish your detox.
·
A
detox diet should not last more than 10 days. If continued for a long period of
time; it might lead to nutrient deficiencies and other health issues.

foods in the list might be hard to incorporate, either because you can’t find
them locally or because they are expensive. Just do the best you can to come up
with a detox plan that works for you and that you feel good and excited about.
And don’t forget
to always eat organic food and drink plenty of water – at least during your
detox-…
Good luck!
